Marlon Campbell's
precise, deliberate, and imaginative style is applied to Illustration,
Graphic Design,
Film & Theatrical Production, and Internet
Communications. He is known for his interesting line character, precise
composition, and unorthodox application of various media.
His distinctive work can be seen in logos, posters,
stationary, CD covers, web sites, videos, stage set, and publicity
materials for a variety of artists, entrepreneurs, and organizations.
His clients have included Ghostface Killa, the NYPD's Guardians
Association, Queen Afua, Project HOPE, New York University,
Tokyo's Broadway Musical Academy, The Equinox Group, and International
Creative Marketing (ICM), as well as performers such as the late Harold
Melvin of the Blue Notes, Patti LaBelle, Expose, KRS-One, Troop, Ray,
Goodman, and Brown, Naughty by Nature, and Janet Jackson.
His interest in Art began in his earliest youth, and
was fostered both at home and by several inspirational teachers working
in the New York Public School system. Mr. Campbell often pays tribute to
one teacher in particular. While attending Beach Channel High School, in
Rockaway, New York, he was favored to become a student of Bruce Degen.
Mr. Degen's brilliant, real-world instruction helped to launch the
careers of not only Mr. Campbell, but many successful artists and
designers. He later went on to fame as the illustrator of Scholastic's
Magic School Bus children's book series.
Mr. Campbell's work in Publication Design began in earnest soon
thereafter, while studying Journalism at NYU. He quickly became a
